The Eagle Harbor Citizens Association ("EHCA," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us through this website (https://ehcamd.org). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information You Provide Directly

When you fill out our contact form, you may provide:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Subject of inquiry and message content

We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and to follow up on community matters you raise.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security, spam prevention, and basic traffic analysis. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide certain features, this website loads resources from the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Netlify Forms — processes contact form submissions and provides basic spam filtering. Netlify Privacy Policy
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 — protects the contact form from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Calendar & Google Maps — embedded on the Events and Contact pages. Google may set cookies and collect usage data when these embeds load.
  • Adobe Fonts (Typekit) — serves the typefaces used on this site. Adobe collects basic font request data. Adobe Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies and Tracking

This website uses a small number of cookies, primarily set by the third-party services listed above (notably Google reCAPTCHA and Google Maps). We do not use first-party analytics or advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking cookies may affect how the contact form and embedded maps function.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Coordinate community events, volunteer opportunities, and Association business

5. Member Directory

Our Member Directory page lists Association leadership and committee members with their consent. If you are listed and would like your contact information updated or removed, please email info@ehcamd.org.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for reasonable record-keeping (typically up to two years), then deleted unless ongoing community business requires longer retention.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you. Maryland residents may exercise rights under the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA. Residents of the European Economic Area may exercise rights under the GDPR.

8. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect information transmitted to and from this website, including HTTPS encryption, modern browser security headers, and a strict Content Security Policy. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Donations

If you donate to the Association, donation processing is handled by a separate third-party processor whose privacy policy applies to that transaction. We retain only the basic information necessary for tax acknowledgment and nonprofit recordkeeping.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for a reasonable period.
